In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda close to baseboards and in corners The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was still quiet and moved quickly. It didn't mop, and its cleaning pad that was removable was a challenge to attach. It also was unable to handle dirt that was dried on.
The app doesn't have advanced features like multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does support Alexa however its voice controls aren't precise or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it returns to the charging station after an exercise. Other robots can follow a wall or trace a previous route however, the RX3 is a mess until it quits.
We also had issues with the intelligent features of the device, namely its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a great job of keeping away from our shoes and furniture legs but it could easily be hung up by cables and socks, and it was not able to manage the tassels on rug. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. With a decent price and a dazzling performance it's a Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to the traditional uprights.
